The KRC supports a Part-Day or Full-Day preschool program of small and large group classroom activities. It is designed as a self contained kit that includes all the teaching materials and supplies needed. Also included are the classroom posters and flip charts shown below. The Teacher Manual provides a daily outline of suggested activities that covers a 34 week school year. It provides a detailed explanation of each activity, classroom set-up procedures, song lyrics, and formats for introducing new material. Posters, flip charts, and the Teacher Manual can be purchased separately. Contact us for further information.
Four flip charts are provided to help children learn a variety of letter and print concepts, as well as rhyming. Each 30" x 36" chart is based on a common nursery rhyme. Their size makes them ideal for use in a small or large group. Charts hang from a lightweight stand.
The KRC provides 8.5" x 11" laminated upper case letter cards, each of which is personalized with a specific characteristic (Mr. B has a big brain).
Individual laminated sheets (8.5" X 11") for each of the numbers from 1 to 20 are provided to allow teachers to work with children individually or in small groups. Each sheet includes a number, objects for counting, and a number bar, allowing teacher to focus on number recognition and/or counting depending upon the child's needs and interest. The lamination allows children to draw on the page with dry erase markers. These individual number sheets are smaller versions of the composite children see on the classroom number banner provided.
The Parent Activity Kit contains detailed activities that make it fun and easy for parents to reinforce preliteracy and pre-math skills at home. The activities in the PAK emphasize three areas: Shapes and Colors; Letters and Sounds; Numbers and Counting. All teaching materials and supplies to support the activities are included, as well as a detailed description and instructions. To facilitate learning, some of the content in each area overlaps what children encounter in the classroom curriculum.
